BMW F30 vs F32: Do Exterior Parts Interchange?

The BMW F30 is the 3 Series sedan; the F32 is the 4 Series coupe. An F32 front bumper does not directly bolt onto an F30: owners report different mounting points, headlight openings and adjacent front-end panels (F30 owner discussion). The same principle applies to buying a bumper-mounted lip: a stock F32 M Sport lip is not automatically an F30 M Sport lip.

Front end: no direct bumper swap

The F30 and F32 have distinct front styling, headlight cutouts, bumper profiles and fender interfaces. An F32 bumper on an F30 is a conversion, not a normal replacement. Owners who have done such conversions discuss changing other front-end parts and making modifications. Do not buy the F32 bumper alone expecting it to clip into an F30.

Also distinguish the standard bumper from M Sport/M-Tech. Even within one chassis, a lip that traces the M Sport bumper’s lower edge does not fit a standard bumper as a direct bolt-on. An “M3-style” replica bumper for an F30 is yet another shape and needs a lip made for that particular replica design.

Rear end: sedan and coupe parts are separate

The F30 sedan and F32 coupe have different trunk-lid shapes, so their trunk spoilers are not direct substitutes. Rear bumpers and diffuser openings are body- and bumper-specific; the exhaust outlet arrangement adds another constraint. Do not use a shared wheelbase as evidence that a trunk lid or rear diffuser fits.

The side-skirt exception

Some side-skirt extensions or add-on splitters are explicitly sold for both F30 and F32. For example, SSDD Motorsport lists its M Sport rear side-skirt splitters across both chassis, and AeroflowDynamics lists a side-skirt extension for F30, F32, F80 and F82. Those are specific add-ons designed for multiple models; they do not establish that every full OEM rocker panel, bracket or skirt is identical.

Other small accessories can also share a fitment list. A shared part is an exception documented on that part, not permission to move all F32 bodywork to an F30.

Quick fitment verdict

• F32 bumper, grille-area trim and bumper lip on F30: Not a direct-fit replacement. Use F30-specific parts or plan a proper conversion.
• F32 trunk spoiler or rear diffuser on F30: Not a direct swap. Sedan and coupe rear shapes differ.
• Side-skirt add-ons: Sometimes cross-fit, but only when that exact manufacturer lists both F30 and F32 and the required bumper/rocker trim.
• Interior or other small trim: May be shared by specific products; the chassis name in the listing is the deciding point.

Browse F30 parts or F32 parts at Monaco Auto. A front-lip title that mentions an M3 or M4 style bumper refers to a particular aftermarket bumper shape, not proof that an OEM F80 M3 or F82 M4 part fits a stock F30/F32.
